Grants for small and medium-sized grassroots organisations working with communities facing inequality or disadvantage, with a focus on tackling economic disadvantage and improving access to services.

Who can apply: Constituted voluntary/community organisations, registered charities, and not-for-profit companies (including CICs) based and working in Bristol, Bath & North-East Somerset, North Somerset, or South Gloucestershire. Priority is given to organisations with an income under £500k, though those up to £1m are eligible.

What's available: The average grant is around £4,000, and funding can cover core running costs, project costs, or capital costs. You can apply for new or existing activities, as long as you can start spending within six months of an award.

A few things to note: Only 54% of applications are successful, and the fund may occasionally offer partial awards. Decisions typically take 8–10 weeks, and applications must be submitted online.

This could be a good fit for a wide range of community food organisations — particularly those working with people experiencing food poverty, economic hardship, or those from communities facing disadvantage and inequality.
